Located in the heart of Montreal's metropolis, renowned for its cultural diversity, ITIM aims to train men and women who serve Christ with dedication and excellence in the multicultural context of our society, in order to harvest the world's harvest. competent speakers in areas related to the great theological, ethical and spiritual issues of our time.
 

All over the world, churches face the challenges of interculturality, whether it is to live the cultural richness of indigenous churches or to implant new mission communities. In the first case, the problem is reflected in the churches by the presence of several non-integrated cultures, and in the second case by the multiplication of ethnic churches.

However, it is clear in the Acts of the Apostles that the primitive Church, despite the difficulties encountered for the Christian "living together", has built all its action in an intercultural perspective. It was not an aggregate of various ethnic groups, but a "community" that persevered in intercultural fraternal communion (Acts 2:42, 15,24-29), which celebrated intercultural cults (Acts 2,11; , 9, 7, 9) and which values ​​intercultural governance on the basis of clearly defined criteria (Acts 6,1-7, 1 Timothy 1, Titus 1). Intercultural life is a theological enterprise motivated by faith in God and the love of God.

The ITIM formation integrates the intercultural dimension with the academic, spiritual, ministerial and professional aspects, essential to the preparation for Christian service, and combines scientific rigor and respect for the various visions of the evangelical Christian world. Some programs of the Faculté de théologie et de sciences religieuses of Université Laval offered at the ITIM in Biblical Studies, Theological Studies and Pastoral Studies, are not only rooted in Holy Scripture and consistent with the Protestant Reformation, the Gospel Tradition and the Spirit of God. Pentecost, but also sensitive to our socio-cultural environment.

The ITIM is also intended to contribute, on the one hand, to the advancement of knowledge in our society in general and in the evangelical world in particular and, on the other hand, to the formation mission of the Church at the local level, national and international.
