Prophetic and Apocalyptic Phenomena in the Ancient Near East and Biblical Literature. The apocalyptic genre is in continuity and also marks a break with the older prophetic genre. The presentation of biblical prophecy and apocalypticism helps to understand the perspective of the New Testament in which early Christian theology was constructed.
